In two brief weeks, my exploration in Kobe has uncovered a wealth of overlooked materials ripe for reimagination. What may be dismissed as waste holds boundless potential in the realm of design. Drawing from my experience in Saigon, where I meticulously curate and compose materials, I am confronted with a new scale of opportunity here in Kobe, necessitating the expertise of the For Cities team and Nishimuragumi to navigate.
This residency has sparked a profound realization regarding the pervasive issue of consumerism and materialism, transcending geographic boundaries. It underscores the urgency for sustainable design practices in a world where mass-produced goods dominate the market, stifling innovation and creativity.

Through the innovative platform of Ném Kobe House, I aspire to breathe new life into these reclaimed materials, reshaping them into functional artifacts that address contemporary challenges. Beyond mere creation, this endeavor aims to foster a dynamic space for communal engagement and problem-solving.
My ultimate vision for Ném Kobe House transcends its role as a mere showcase; it is a catalyst for ongoing dialogue and action, empowering individuals to actively participate in shaping their environment. I envision a future where this space continues to evolve, serving as a hub for collaborative endeavors long after my departure.
